The Vision of “The Exchange” is a community need-based evangelism ministry designed to teach and/or provide skill sets to help individuals and families.

Envision a group of 40-50 people from the community from various walks of life, from various countries, with multiple needs.  How do we as a ministry truly begin to help them?  I visit the food bank from time to time to meet the people and pray with them or for them, and to share the gospel.  What if we added to what we are already doing, a 1-2 hour session with each one from this group?  So before or after people get their items from the food bank, they can get a class to teach them a skill set, or how to fix something in their home, or tutoring for school, or how to balance their checkbook, or relationship or addictions counseling, or to learn a new language etc.

Ultimately, we want to give our community a place to connect and improve.  The building contractor can volunteer time and donate materials, and the single mom can have her deck repaired.  The single mom can volunteer time and book keeping knowledge, and the teenagers can learn how to balance a checkbook.  This example can be duplicated and applied to any business, organization or individual who wants to volunteer or has a need that can be met.

In the process of this, we not only help improve lives in our community, we also begin to build meaningful relationships which leads to opportunities to share the message of the gospel.

II Cor 6:11-13 “…our heart is opened wide, now in a like exchange open wide to us also”
